Rob van Maris started programming in 1981, with enterprise Java from 1999 onward. Since 2005 he has been helping teams to adopt an agile approach to software development, aiming for working software, delivered incrementally, at a predictable and sustainable pace. Rob is a certified ScrumMaster and Scrum Professional.

Rob is best described as both a software craftsman and a team enabler. Software development is a team effort, and the biggest challenges in software development projects are usually not about machines, but about how people work together. He helps teams to become successful by continuous improvement, in various roles, like developer/architect, mentor/coach and scrummaster/team lead, or in a combination that contributes optimally to the achievement of the team as a whole.

Rob values technical excellence, since high productivity requires high code quality. As a software engineer and architect he is always eager to learn about new technologies, provide technical guidance and promote an active and continuous exchange of knowledge and ideas among the people he works with.
